Charlotte Thompson

Charlotte Thompson, 96, of Haines died Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at her residence. A funeral service was held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 25th, 2016 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Baker City. Committal took place in the Union Cemetery in Union, Oregon.

Charlotte was born in Cardston, Alberta, Canada on September 2, 1919 to Benjamin and Dora (Davis) Marsden. She married Trever Thompson on June 29, 1936 in Cardston, Alberta and they were married for 60 years before Trever's passing. Charlotte was a wonderful housewife and spent 10 years as a Practical Nurse at the Hot Lake Nursing Center in La Grande, Oregon.

Being a wonderful wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother were accomplishments she was proud of and her family loved her deeply for. Charlotte found joy in spending time with her grandkids, sewing, crocheting, and reading. She was also a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Church in Baker City, Oregon.

She is survived by her brother Nophe Marsden of Vancouver, Washington, her daughters Treva Ethel Costen of Bremerton, Washington, Charlene Dora Gordon of Baker City, Oregon, Benita Gail Nielson of Pocatello, Idaho, Linda LaRue Holt of Burley, Idaho, Jonetta Opal Sarman of Nampa, Idaho, Denice Arley of Elgin, Oregon, Penny Renee Okelberry of Grande Island, New York, her sons Terrance Zane Thompson of Elgin, Oregon, and Brent Ernest Thompson of Haines, Oregon. She is also survived by 41 grandchildren, 91 great-grandchildren, and 52 great-great grandchildren.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Trever Thompson, three brothers, two sisters, and numerous others.
