Daniel Joseph Mack, 79, of Elk, Washington passed away at the Providence Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, Washington on Friday, May 5, 2017. A visitation will be held for Daniel at Gray's West & Co. Pioneer Chapel on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral with interment following the service at Mt. Hope Cemetery. A reception will be held at the St. Francis Parish Hall at the conclusion of the service for those who would like to attend.\n\nDaniel was born on December 22, 1937 in Karlsruhe, North Dakota to Anton Mack and Katherine (Black) Mack. He married Donna Lee Watts on December 27, 1958 in Baker City, Oregon and together they had six children; Larry, Chriss, Daniel Jr., Bruce, Gina, and Dale. He was also a proud grandfather to sixteen grandchildren and great-grandfather to ten. Daniel and Donna were married for 58 years before his passing.\n\nHe was a gemologist, master watchmaker and jeweler before retiring in 2002. Daniel owned and operated Dan's Fine Jewelry in Baker City for 45 years. Basketball, hunting, fishing, playing cards and spending time with his family were some of the things he enjoyed the most. Daniel was proud to be affiliated with the Catholic Church, The Knights of Columbus, and the Elks Lodge.\n\nDaniel leaves behind his loving wife Donna Mack of Elk, Washington; sons Larry Mack and wife Josi, Chriss Mack and wife Carolyn, Daniel Mack Jr. and wife Lena, Bruce Mack and wife Tami, and Dale Mack and fiance; Sheila Baker, one daughter Gina Mack Villalobos and husband Joe; sister Peggy Mack and two brothers Anton (Tony) Mack and Lawrence Mack. He is also survived by his sixteen grandchildren; Tyler Mack, Jenifer Mack-Munoz, Shelby Mayes, Hannah Prince, Ryan Mack, Jennifer Townsend, Steven Schmit, Christina Schmit, Breana Mack, Amanda Mack, Dustin Mack, Austin Villalobos, Darian Villalobos, Katherine Villalobos, Anthony Mack, and Alexzander Mack. Daniel also leaves behind his ten great-grandchildren.\n\nHe is preceded in death by his parents Anton and Katherine Mack; two brothers Fabian Mack and Wendell Mack; and one sister Barbara Mack.\n\nShould friends and family desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus through Gray's West & Co.
