Dorel Lorraine (Conklin) McFarland Obituary (1925 - 2023)

Dorel L. McFarland, 97, of Baker City, Oregon, passed away at her residence in Meadowbrook Place on March 25, 2023. She was interred privately in the Cloverdale Memorial Park in Boise, Idaho, on April 4, 2023. On May 14, 1925, Hubert (Bud) Conklin and Florence Kathleen (Blunt) Conklin welcomed Dorel into their world. She attended Caldwell High School and worked as a self-employed bookkeeper, keeping the books for Harold's Used Car Lot for over 40 years. In 1946 she married Harold McFarland, and together they had one daughter, Linda. Harold passed away in 1996. Dorel enjoyed traveling and going on camping trips; she also loved to play Bingo. Being with her granddaughters and their families was her favorite thing to do. Dorel is survived by her daughter Linda McFarland Mark and her husband Daniel Mark of Baker City, Oregon; sister Shereen Price and Shereen's son Ken Price both of La Grande, Oregon; granddaughters Danette (Doug) Mark Cain of Meridian, Idaho, and Dana (Blake) Marlia of Baker City, Oregon. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Makayla (Austin) Cain Plumbtee, Max Cain, Paige Marlia, and Landon (Lib) Marlia. Her husband, Harold McFarland, and her parents, Hubert and Florence Conklin, preceded her in death. Memorial contributions may be made to Meadowbrook Place Assisted Living through Gray's West & Co.
