Eugene Paul Robertson, 90, of Baker City, Oregon passed away at his residence on April 25, 2017. Arrangements have been entrusted to Gray's West & Co. Pioneer Chapel in Baker City. His family will hold a private graveside service for Eugene at a later date.\n\nRalph Roy Robertson and Marie (Carpenter) Robertson welcomed Eugene into the world on December 29, 1926 in Orange, California. He graduated from Santa Ana High School and in later years completed training in Barber School as well as completion of the Fireman Academy. Eugene also spent two years in the United States Navy defending our country.\n\nIn August of 1944, Eugene married Joyce Hoffman and together they lovingly created six children. He was a Fire Chief and Barber in both Medford, Oregon and Astoria, Oregon; retiring in 1986.\n\nEugene possessed a wonderful wry sense of humor to the very end, and he was always involved in the lives of his family as a refuge and support system. In his spare time, Eugene loved to hunt, fish, and read; he was also a proud supporter of the Kiwanis and the National Rifle Association.\n\nHe is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Marie Robertson; his wife, Joyce Robertson; and his daughter Ilene Uht.\n\nEugene leaves behind five children; Sallie McMahon of La Quinta, California, Steve Robertson of Libby, Montana, Nancy Keeran of Elma, Washington, Dale Robertson of Baker City, Oregon and John Robertson of Baker City, Oregon. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
