June Dolores Scrivner-Bowen Obituary (1930 - 2023)

June Dolores Scrivner Bowen, 92, of Baker City, Oregon, passed away at her residence on January 6, 2023. Private services will be held, and she will be interred at Mt. Hope Cemetery next to her late husband, Robert. June was born on June 10, 1930, to Art and Mae Fisk in Boise, Idaho; June grew up in Warren, Idaho. She attended schools in Warren and McCall, Idaho, before moving to Baker and graduating from Baker high school in 1947. In 1948, June married Ernie Scrivner, raising four children together. Before returning to Baker, she lived in Prineville, The Dalles, and Gresham, Oregon. They later divorced. In 1974, June married Robert Bowen Jr. They enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, spending time at their cabin property, and snowmobiling in the Elkhorn mountains. She loved cooking for her family and friends, reading, working in her flower gardens, and tending to her many houseplants. June began working at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, continued her education in Boise, Idaho, and returned to the hospital after receiving her LPN certification. She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Menser of Baker City, Oregon, and Linda (Pat) Nagle of Estacada, Oregon; son Steve (Vickie) Scrivner of Grants Pass, Oregon; sisters-in-law Betty Scrivner-Greene of Eugene, Oregon, and Vonda Bowen, Baker City, Oregon; step-daughters Susan (Tom) Cunningham of Keiser, Oregon, and Donell Bowen of Baker City, Oregon. June is also survived by seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. June was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Bowen, son David Scrivner, brothers Ed, and Joe "Jody" Hawley, son-in-law Paul Menser, and grandsons Benjamin and Todd Chaves.
