Terril Hughes Obituary (1969 - 2024)

Terril Joseph Hughes, age 54, passed away at his home on June 17, 2024, in Baker City, Oregon. Terril was born on October 3, 1969, in Baker City to Sheron Lewter and Earnest Hughes. He attended Baker High School, graduating in 1988. He furthered his education at Eastern Oregon Community College. He proudly served his country for four years as a specialist in the National Guard, specifically with Company A, 3rd Battalion, 716th Cavalry. A celebration of Terril's life will be held at Community Connections, 2810 Cedar Street, Baker City, Oregon, on July 28, 2024, from 2 PM to 4 PM. In accordance with his wishes, his ashes will be spread in Oregon, Mt. Kellamacue, and in the Philippines at the farm. Professionally, Terril excelled as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver, working for Northern Energy Services in Alaska and previously in the oil fields of Colorado and North Dakota. Holding those positions and being CDL certified was of his many accomplishments. On December 7, 2016, Terril married the love of his life, Jady Jeanlee Buniag Hughes, in Pilar Bataan, Philippines. Together, they built a life filled with love and adventure. Terril found joy in camping, playing pool, bowling, watching movies, hiking, rafting, fishing, working on cars, cooking, and music. His infectious sense of humor and love for joking around made him the life of any gathering, embodying the role of a natural comedian. He is survived by his wife Jady, son Johndale both of Baker City, son Jacob Hughes of Boise, Idaho, daughter Ashley Hughes of Vernonia, Oregon, mother Sheron Lewter of Baker City, two brothers, a sister, two granddaughters, eight nephews, three nieces, three sister in-laws, two brother in-laws, one great niece, and one great nephew. He is preceded in death by his father Earnest Hughes, his grandparents Forest and Anna Lewter, and his Uncle Larry Lewter.
