Thomas Lee Christensen, 83, of Haines passed away January 15, 2017 at his residence. A celebration of his life will be planned for a later date and published, when the weather is more accommodating.\n\nTom was born March 19, 1933 in Baker City to William Oscar and Edna Fay (Culbertson) Christensen. He graduated from North Powder High School and went on to attend Oregon State University. He worked as a dairy farmer and in the real estate field for A-1 realty. He also had a landscaping business for some time. In 1957, he married Jessica Dunn in Baker City. The couple remained married for 10 years.\n\nSome of Tom's favorite hobbies were planting flowers and reading. He also really enjoyed playing his trumpet and the bongo drums.\n\nTom is survived by his three children; Thomas Lee Christensen Jr. of Winchester, Idaho, Lisa Massey of Tucson, Arizona, and Janet Johnson of Craigmont, Idaho. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and his 99 year old aunt, Alta Rose Moore of Union, Oregon.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul Christensen.\n\nMemorial contributions in Tom's memory may be made to the Haines Firework Celebration through Gray's West & Co. Pioneer Chapel.
